Peasant’s successes and experiences at the secondary level uniquely qualified him for the District’s top position as it prepared to begin construction on a new sixth and seventh grade school. The innovative school combines the resources of SOCSD and Mississippi State University and promises to reimagine middle school and teacher training in Mississippi and beyond.
Tiền hoàn lại bùng nổ như một cơn lũA former Mississippi Administrator of the Year, Peasant has previously served as assistant superintendent of the Tupelo School District and principal of Clinton High School and Gulfport Middle School.
Earlier this year, Peasant was tapped by the Mississippi Department of Education to serve on its Middle School Task Force and its Student Testing Task Force. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Mississippi Association of School Administrators (MASA) and Program of Research and Evaluation for Public Schools (PREPS).
Peasant recently completed the Aspiring and Early Career Leaders Academy, a professional development initiative offered through AASA, The School Superintendents Association and Mississippi Association of School Administrators (MASA)to bolster school district leadership.

Christy Maulding began her educational career as a sixth grade English teacher and high school softball coach. Before joining the Starkville Oktibbeha School District in July 2017, she served eight years as a building level principal and seven years as Assistant Superintendent in the Rankin County School District. She also served as the Work Based Learning Coordinator for Hinds Community College.
Dr. Maulding earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University and her and Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College. Christy has also completed the National Institute of School Leadership and the Mississippi School Board Association Superintendent Leadership Academy.
Anna Guntharp

Anna Guntharp began her career in education as a middle school ELA and U. S. history teacher. She served as an elementary principal, Director of Federal Programs and Curriculum, and Assistant Superintendent prior to joining the Starkville Oktibbeha School District in January 2018.
Mrs. Guntharp is a graduate of North Pontotoc High School. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a Master’s degree and a Specialist's degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University.
Mrs. Guntharp is married to Keith Guntharp, and together they have five children. When she isn’t working, Mrs. Guntharp enjoys traveling with family, walking with her German Shepherd, Duke, and reading anything to do with history.
