DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY-CENTERED PROGRAMS

 Resource Assistant (FT/12 months)

  • Responsibilities: Assist with the operation of the Emerson Family Resource Center (e.g. maintaining inventory, circulating resources, assist in activities and workshops).
  • Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, two years’ experience working in media related area, computer and typing skills, must have good written and oral communication skills.

Assistant Bookkeeper (PT)

  • Responsibilities: Assists in the management of financial transactions and records.
  • Qualifications:  Postsecondary classes/training in accounting/bookkeeping.  Knowledge of accounting principles and concepts. Experience in purchasing, payroll and financial reporting.  Computer skills with experience in the use of spreadsheets and word processing. Strong organizational, exceptional interpersonal, multi-tasking skills.

Program Manager (2 PT, 50% FTE positions)

  • Responsibilities: Oversee program implementation of a 21st Century Community Learning Centers after school project for grades 5-12.  
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in administration, education or related area; evidence of leadership and knowledge of teaching practices; and strong interpersonal skills and management ability. 

PreK Teacher  (FT)

  • Responsibilities: Provide a developmentally appropriate instructional environment for 4-year old children. 
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or related field; a MS teaching license; early childhood teaching experience; excellent communication skills; knowledge of sound early childhood principles.

Preschool Teacher  (FT, 12 months)

  • Responsibilities: Provide a developmentally appropriate instructional environment for young children, ages 2 to 3 year olds. 
  • Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; CDA; excellent communication skills; knowledge of sound early childhood principles.

Preschool Teacher Assistant (FT, 12 months)

  • Responsibilities:  Provide support for the instruction of children ages 2 to 5 years.
  • Requirements:  High School Diploma or equivalent; CDA; excellent communication skills; knowledge of sound early childhood principles.

 

Preschool Coordinator (FT, 12 month)

  • Responsibilities:  Provide a developmentally appropriate instructional environment for young children (toddler to 4 years).  Manage the preschool (e.g. staff supervision and professional development, instructional leadership and guidance, enrollment management, budget management, working with parents).
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early child development, elementary education, or administration; 5 years of early childhood experience, preferably in administration/ management; experience in supervising staff; demonstrated leadership ability; excellent communication and organizational skills; knowledge of sound early childhood principles. 
  • Preferred: Endorsement in Administration.

Extended Day Group Leaders (Multiple, part-time)

  • Responsibilities: Provide group activities for students participating in after school program (five days a week; 2:30 – 5:30). 
  • Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent and successfully work experience with school-aged children in groups.

After School Enrichment Teachers (PT)

  • Responsibilities: Provide academic enrichment instruction in specialized areas (e.g. STEM, arts, languages, etc.).
  • Qualifications: Highly qualified in subject area, successful teaching experience, strong interpersonal skills and management ability.

After School Teachers

  • Responsibilities: Assist students in academic instruction in general education and/or specialized areas (e.g. STEM, arts, etc.) with specific emphasis on bridging regular day classroom instruction with afterschool academic enrichment.
  • Qualifications: Highly qualified in subject area, successful teaching experience, strong interpersonal skills and management ability.

 

Childcare Provider (PT)

  • Responsibilities: Provide childcare for families participating in Family Centered Programs’ services.
  • Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, experience working with young children, experience working with persons form diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, good communication skills.
